Essay / BBQ Restaurant Review - 1121
Jazz is usually associated with the saxophone, which was my preconception, but in this case the double bass and guitar were used to create a smooth jazz sound. Ben Taylor would start the songs by strumming the bass with what sounded like high speeds, but it actually came out with sounds of a defined meter. This sound seemed a bit general, but that was only because Lamonte Parsons almost immediately started playing his guitar to start the song with his own mix. That's how most of the song goes, but in every song they play together, there's a point where Parsons builds up to a point where he'll eventually stop and Taylor starts playing his solo where he closes his eyes and strums the bass. He played with such enthusiasm that one thought the sounds coming from his bass must be irregular and disorganized, but that was not the case. It was beautiful sounds that you could say was why Parsons chose him to be part of Lamonte Parsons.
