  • Essay / Cryptid Animals in American Culture - 1038

Cryptid AnimalsMaybe you once camped in the woods. You saw something hiding in the woods. You saw something unlike anything you've ever seen in your life. You think it looked like the legendary Bigfoot. You know, the one you watched those Animal Planet shows on. You didn't really believe what these guys were saying. You thought these guys were talking crazy because they thought it was real. Maybe once you were on the lake. You saw something that looked like a log swimming across the lake. You didn't think anything of it. You didn't think it might be the Loch Ness Monster. This could have been the one they show History Channel documentaries on. Maybe you've seen a coyote-looking thing attack a farmer's goat. You didn't think much about it, you thought you'd be crazy to think it was a supposed 'Chupacabra'. Cryptid animals play an important role in American culture, from the creation of television shows about them to a cultural phenomenon. Bigfoot is perhaps the most famous cryptid animal of all time. It is certainly the one with the most recorded sightings. It is the only cryptid animal that is the subject of two major shows on Animal Planet. One of the shows is called “Finding Bigfoot.” This show is mainly about finding and hunting Sasquatches all over the world. They traveled to very remote places in search of Bigfoots. This is probably the most popular Cryptid animal show ever made. The other show about Bigfoots is called “10 Million Dollar Bigfoot Bounty”. This show is a reality show about finding and capturing Bigfoots. The basis of the show is that they take the participants wherever the most recorded Bigfoot sightings are, and they all try to catch one. If a team catches a Bigf... middle of paper... see it. You know the facts, you know the photos and the supposed details of the animals. Now go out and find out the truth for yourself. Works Cited Diffe, Matthew. "The Chupacabra".
