Belatedly and badly.Suits was never about a law firm but a series set in a law firm: it was always about “power”. The halls of Pearson&Whatever are home to charismatic, charming and extremely well-dressed characters who aim to stay on top and dominate everyone in the process. Certainly, a company is a perfect scenario to implement a power struggle, but it could be a corporation, a television channel, any other type of workplace in which it is only relevant to be at the top, in fact the time spent in the courtroom is very little, only to remind from time to time that these people are lawyers, but that every case is won through legal scams, blackmail, bold speeches and threatening to show self-confidence: the goal is not to “win”, but to win to feed your ego. This structure worked perfectly for the first two seasons: the characters were all new to the audience, the storyline about Mike Ross's background first, and then Firm's problem with the former named partner, were compelling. But now there's nothing more to add to what we've already seen....
