Studies have already shown that watching movies can lead to obesity. If we play soccer, football and other activities, we can do physical exercise which can lose weight. Instead, we gain weight from watching TV and movies. More outdoor activities mean less time spent in front of a computer screen. Even the US government's recommendation is that to be healthy we need at least 30 minutes of physical exercise (Watkin, 2009). Engaging in outdoor activities not only keeps us energetic but can also help with weight loss. Moreover, we should make a habit of reading a book instead of looking at the computer screen, which might not affect our health, but would sharpen our memory. Reading a book is another way to spend time wisely than consuming media like watching television and movies. Even studies have shown that “unlike television and the Internet, books improve our concentration and cognitive abilities” (2009).
