Chris McCandless left a legacy and a lesson after he died during his excursion into the Alaskan wilderness. Some claim that he is a hero and that he left a good message to spirits eager for freedom and peace with nature. But others think he's not a hero at all; but in fact, a stupid young child, without any sense of gratitude and with a plan to fail. I think Chris not only failed to perform heroic actions, but he had anti-heroic qualities and beliefs. McCandless is not a hero because he ran away and abandoned his friends and family to travel blindly into danger, without any plan or preparation. Chris is not a hero because he set out on his journey unprepared, without knowledge of the area, and without any help.
