A group can be defined as several individuals who come together to accomplish a particular task. In the case of my group, the five of us were tasked with developing a six-hour training program detailing the importance and necessity of public relations in business. As a task force, Joanna, Diana, Eric, Paige, and I were brought together to accomplish a narrow range of goals within a specific time frame. Joanna and I assigned goals and certain tasks to different people in our group and shortly after our first meeting in class, emerging roles began to develop naturally to meet the needs of the group at a specific time. Despite some communication issues and scheduling conflicts, our group worked well together. Group cohesion refers to the bonds between group members and their desire to remain part of the group. In addition to engagement in tasks, I found my group members to be easy to work with and pleasant. The bonds that developed between us were born from our concerted efforts to achieve a common goal, a sign of group cohesion. Our cohesion and ability to work well as a group directly resulted in what we consider to be a good performance. In addition, the cohesion of our group had an impact on the satisfaction of our members. I found myself satisfied with my group members because I was satisfied with the way our team worked together. In our group, the norms were acceptable standards of behavior...... middle of paper ...... discussion states group taking care of logistical issues like where meetings are held and what supplies we needed to bring to the meeting. I think I was a good member of the group. In addition to my Prezi slides and written proposal, I gathered the bibliography of everyone's sources and was always open to communication. I can call myself an opinion giver because I have often expressed my opinions and beliefs about what the group should do in order to improve our presentation, which has been constructive because it has started conversations in which we exchange of ideas. Overall, I especially liked my group members and thought that collectively we came up with a good presentation and a good written proposal. We all left the group more informed and feeling accomplished because we accomplished our task and created connections through group cohesion..
