Automobiles have been around for about a century and have come a long way. Although Henry Ford is believed to have invented the automobile, in reality the Baushke family built the first American automobile in Benton Harbor, Michigan in 1894. In American history, the famous model of Henry Ford T was very popular in the early 1900s and liberated the markets. Even though Henry Ford was not the first to invent the automobile, Henry Ford had a motivation to revolutionize the way people travel and it began with the mass production of the Model T. Today, the automobile is one of the most important inventions that we still use today. There are paved road networks throughout the world on which automobiles can travel. Along with Ford Motor Company, Dodge, Jeep, Chrysler, Chevrolet, GMC and Lincoln joined the competition in automobile manufacturing. Henry Ford founded the Ford Motor Company in 1903 (“Ford Motor Company”). In 1908, GM was founded (“Company: History and Heritage”) and in 1937 Mopar (“Evolution of a Brand”). Today, many automobile manufacturers compete and the automobile is the most reliable means of transportation in America and around the world. The invention of the automobile undoubtedly had one of the most significant impacts on American history. Since then, automakers have made many types of vehicles to best suit your driving style, including SUVs, trucks, compact cars, luxury cars, and sedans, etc. countries around the world joined the competition, such as Toyota, Nissan and other European centers...... middle of paper ... located outside of cities and fuel was delivered in drums or containers. Sometimes the distances between depots were too long for automobiles, so a long walk or the aid of a horse was necessary to acquire gasoline. As automobile sales increased, the demand for fuel led to a more efficient means. In 1914, Standard Oil of California opened a chain of 34 gas stations along the West Coast. Soon, gas pumps were not only installed at gas stations, but also at hardware stores, animal feed businesses, horse stables, and various other retailers. Automobiles created new problems in cities. Especially with too abundant an automobile supply. The large number of cars and the large number of trips in these cars to and from home, work, places of recreation, grocery stores and more have made traffic a universal problem throughout the country..
