As the world becomes more and more globalized and civilized, it is important for any business to help fulfill social responsibility in addition to its primary goal of making a profit (Erhemjamts, Li and Venkateswaran, 2013; Otubanjo, 2013). This article aims to provide a description of corporate social responsibility (CSR) associated with its enormous effects on international trade, both positive and negative. In addition, the paper also contains discussions on the views of shareholders and stakeholders on corporate social responsibility, as there have been many controversies regarding their benefits during the implementation of CSR. Last but not least, the research will examine several challenges and their counterparts of any international organization wishing to apply CSR effectively in Vietnam. Corporate social responsibility is generally known in Western countries as a company's desire to contribute to stakeholders beyond the call of duty. , to be more precise, the way of treating employees, the additional benefits for customers and the community in general. In addition, businesses also want to maintain the environmental situation, by processing and recycling waste, using natural resources appropriately, and improving the conditions of society, increasing social welfare and providing services community. According to Ricky and Michael (2013), CSR can be understood as the obligation to serve stakeholders, the environment and society. In Asian countries, businessmen also apply CSR, but in a different way, based on a set of beliefs, norms and moral values based on religion or ancient philosophy.
