  • Essay / Forced Equality in Harrison Bergeron's Society

They weren't creating equality, they were creating drones that would do whatever they said and zombies that were being held captive by themselves. Being trapped, living on the outside, but inside their dead. This story explained the courageous individual who fought for what he thought was best. This shows how brave he was and how sometimes people can be beaten for what they believe in, even if it's right. The government should be considered a criminal and a danger to society. But the circumstances are different and the mindset is different. This story is related to real life. This compares to our current government. They try to make people equal. Sure, not as extreme as the government in this story, but this story could be a capture of the future, in a more fictional way. One thing we need to be aware of is that if we don't fight for what we want now and let the government control us, it may be too late. Finally, we must defend our talents and our differences, because in the future we may regret it and not be able to do anything about it.
