    In life, a person's identity is changed by events that occur during their life or by their actions. In the book “Night”, by Elies Wisesl tells the story of the events of the Holocaust that happened to the Jews of Sighet. Jews once lived their lives like everyone else, until the events of the Holocaust destroyed it. Jews were stripped of everything that constituted their identity by the Nazis. They were treated so badly that it seems unreal to those who haven't experienced it. Jews involved in the events of the Holocaust had their identities affected and changed. Many people's identities were changed before and during the events of the Holocaust. Even before the Holocaust took place in Sighet, the main character's place of origin, foreign Jews were the first to be targeted. The identity of a particular character has been changed. Moshe the Beadle, a poor man who was able to hide his presence and led a humble life. He was one of the foreign Jews deported, but he was able to escape alive and injured. Once he returned, he was changed as Elizer, the main character, said, “There was no more joy in his eyes. He no longer sang. He no longer spoke to me about God or Kabbalah, but only about what he had seen” (Wiesel 04). After what Moshe the Beadle had witnessed, he was changed and did nothing more, but went from house to house warning them of the events that were about to take place. But no one listened to him and just took it as if he was just making things up. He became sad and frustrated with himself and the people around him. He felt like this was destroying the purpose of his return and life in the parish. As Moshe the Beadle said: “I wanted to go back to the middle of paper… The Holocaust changed many people's identities by affecting them. The book “Night” by Elie Wiesel tells the story of how the identity of Jews involved in the events of the Holocaust changes. Moshe the Beadle was among the foreign Jews targeted before the events of the Holocaust affected the Jews of Sighet. His identity has changed because of what he saw happening to the foreign Jews, and he returns to Sighet, aiming to warn everyone of what is to come. Throughout the book, Juliek was the only one who was able to keep part of his identity with him until his final moments. With the death of Elizer's father, Elizer lost his identity as he died with his father and a new identity was formed. Everyone who was involved or affected by the events of the Holocaust, their old identity dies within them while their new identity represents who they are..
