SlamBall was invented from the idea of a combination of sports resembling a real video game. The man behind this idea was Mason Gordon. Mason Gordon contacted a film producer named Mike Tollin. Tollin created the films Coach Carter, the television show Smallville and Wild Hogs. About six months later, after their first meeting, the first court was established in a warehouse in East Los Angeles. This sport was born from a mixture of football, basketball, hockey and gymnastics. From there, Gordon took the sport to the streets to find athletes who could improve this game. Gordon's plan to find players to compete was successful when he signed five recruits: James Willis, Sean Jackson, David Redmond, Michael Goldman and Jeff Sheridan. These players would train with Gordon to produce the first plays. These five players including Gordon will become the first players of this sport. The first two teams created were the Chicago Mob and the Los Angeles Rumble. After this game was played, it attracted the attention of many basketball players and they wanted to know how to play....
