  • Essay / The Teacher in Me - 1742

Teaching is a very important profession, Proverbs 22:6 says: “Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old, he will not move away from it. Being a teacher is more than just helping a student learn information and excel in the curriculum. While these aspects are important, the character and morals that a teacher can instill in a child are of much greater value. I was born in Akron, Ohio and have lived there ever since. Attending Liberty University in Virginia was my first time away from home. Most of the time I enjoy where I live, although sometimes life can be a bit boring. However, when I'm bored, my family is always there to keep me company. My mother, father, sister and brother are all very important to me and I love spending time with them. My dad always said we were a family that stuck together like glue. It's true; I am always there for my family and I know they will always support me. My sister and I are close in age; she is a freshman in high school and my brother is the youngest, being a freshman in high school. My father is a pastor at our church, so I grew up in a very stable Christian home. My mother works as a preschool teacher, which inspired me to pursue the same career field as elementary education. I was never very musically gifted or good at competitive sports. I've never been an artist either, but I love doodling and drawing. I like doing creative activities, so I consider myself a creative person. This is one of the main reasons why I would like to teach a group of younger children. I would love to use activities and games to help my students learn and having a creative personality gives me that advantage. I love traveling and hope to one day visit all seven continents. So far......middle of article......ht.The character and morals of an educator are what differentiates a good teacher from a great teacher. Having a passion for the profession is one of the most important things when it comes to choosing a major. Passion for the profession and passion for the students is what should inspire a teacher to come to work every day. It is important to remember that as a class leader, an instructor is also a role model and mentor to students. Not only does the teacher share knowledge with the students, but the students also influence the teacher and that is what makes teaching such a unique profession.
