The world of mass communication is a world of constant growth and modernization. Mass communication can be defined in many different ways, but its general goal is to target a large audience simultaneously. This semester we covered many areas of mass communications that really stood out to me and opened my eyes to how much media coverage we really have. Overall, the chapter that struck me the most was the use of the Internet in the world of mass communications. The Internet has become a very important resource and channel that allows people not only to communicate with each other, but also to receive information. Today, the Internet has become part of a considerable percentage of Americans' daily lives. Whether it's used on someone's phone on the subway on the way to work or surfed by an employee in a work cubicle, the Internet is there and always working. The cyber world is such a vast world that has so much information to offer an individual. The Internet has not only become an important way to receive information and reports, but it has also broadened our horizons, because through the Internet we can search and learn just about anything. It is crazy to believe that an invention as brilliant as that of the Internet has only existed for around sixty years. The Internet began with the use of huge electronic computers in the 1950s, but the use of the "telegraph" and the general concept of the Internet appeared long before the invention of the cyber world. The whole concept of the Internet is to send data from point A to point B and this concept was in practice long before dial-up Internet on a Dell computer appeared. Before individuals have access to ...... middle of paper ......se. The Internet has become a very important portal for receiving and sending information. I firmly believe that Internet modernization is the future of mass communication. In conclusion, the world of mass communication is a constantly evolving and growing world. New ways of communicating are always coming into play and being invented every day. Our world of mass communication has grown so fast and so much over the last fifty years. Overall, it is the Internet that has had the greatest impact on the world of mass communications. The Internet provides a wide-ranging portal to just about everything. It allows us to communicate with each other, receive information, research, and learn just about anything we want. I am convinced that the future of mass communication lies in the modernization and expansion of the Internet..
