The reason I chose to read this book is because my friend recommended it to me as a heartfelt and inspiring story that interests me. Another reason is that to my surprise, the libraries I went to told me that the book had been borrowed, which made me want to read it even more due to its popularity. Mitch Albom, the main character, narrator and author, writes about his relationship with his favorite teacher, who is another main character, Morrie Schwartz. The setting takes place in 1995 in West Newton, Massachusetts, in Morrie's house. The major conflict is Morrie's battle with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS). The climax is last Tuesday, Mitch visits Morrie when Mitch gives Morrie a hug and starts crying, which foreshadows Morrie's death. The resolution concerns all of the meetings on the Tuesday before Mitch's funeral, when the purpose of the visits is for Mitch to open up to Morrie with his thoughts and emotions.
