Essay / War with Iraq - 492
War with IraqI strongly believe that the United States should go to war against Iraq. I feel this way because if the United States goes to war with Iraq, it will make us, as American citizens, feel safer. The citizen of the United States of America will feel safer because if the United States is at war with Iraq, Iraq will be less likely to produce weapons of mass destruction. I believe that going to war against Iraq will be beneficial to the citizens of the United States because once the weapons of mass destruction are removed from the hands of Iraq, the chances of the United States being hit by a other major terrorist attack will be less. . They criticize the war because they see that the United States sending soldiers to Iraq to continue a new revolution is simply pointless and that there will be nothing to be gained by going to war against Iraq. . People also believe that the only reason the United States is going to war with Iraq is because they believe that the United States will only go to war to control the oil that Iraq contains. Many people “claim that the loss of life will be too costly for America to afford” (War). On the other hand, I disagree that nothing will be won, because going to war with Iraq will give the United States a better chance of finding weapons of mass destruction, and therefore less chance of a terrorist act occurring in the United States. I also disagree with the idea that the United States goes to war with Iraq solely to control Iraq's oil. I feel this strongly, because if the United States was only involved in the war to control Iraq's oil, I believe they would have already used force to carry out such actions...
