    Capitalism has been the central force behind the growth of the progressive economy of the United States. In such an advanced economic system, the risks of economic disparity are very high. In fact, over the past three decades there has been a steady increase in the unequal distribution of wealth between economic classes. To maintain the current unequal distribution of wealth between classes of the American population, many factors influence and shape this trend. For some members of the population, it is extremely worrying to learn that recent statistics have shown that "in the United States [alone], the richest 1% of the population own more than the poorest 95%." (Gutman). As for the difference in economic wealth, it results from the flaws of capitalism supported by the capitalist economic system which has a strong tendency to reward individuals or groups of people who own a lot of capital. Although the American economic system guarantees equality of opportunity for all and is relatively the best economic system that has been designed, capitalism allows the richest of the rich to gain disproportionately greater control of economic capital and d 'evolve more and more beyond the average standard of living. Therefore, in reality, capitalism does not guarantee equal opportunities for all and would be ideal for wealthy members of society. Despite the unwavering economic disparity caused by the flaws of capitalism and other catastrophic visions of capitalism, it nevertheless allows: organizing economic resources to produce goods and/or services.
