In the United States, personal safety is the government's most important concern, and Americans are encouraged to be able to protect themselves from dangerous situations. As a result, Americans have the right to own firearms so they can protect themselves from dangerous situations. However, aside from why armed people can protect themselves from dangerous situations, research has shown that more than 30,000 people are killed every year and more than 30 people are murdered every day by guns in America. Although many people believe it is necessary to own a gun, there are many benefits when gun ownership is restricted except for police and security. The three main benefits are reduced homicides, reduced suicide risks, and reduced deaths from gun-related crimes. People who prefer to own guns say that guns don't kill people, but their users. However, studies have shown that most killers have stated that they did not intend to kill their victims. On top of that, over 70% of all murders come from family conflicts or arguments between friends. (Federal Bureau of Investigation). If there were no weapons, problems would have been resolved by shouting, or perhaps by fighting. Additionally, research has shown that if murderers attack people with guns, they are more likely to kill their victims than with other weapons like knives. (Abner J Mikva). The first benefit when guns are restricted to possession is the reduction in homicides. The pistol is one of the best deadly weapons; it is created to end the life of its intended target.
