Inspiring Women in HistoryThe role of women throughout humanity has been a dynamic and ever-changing role, marked by a constant struggle for equality and respect with his male counterpart. Hatshepsut, the female pharaoh of ancient Egypt, conquered her brothers to ascend to the throne! Cleopatra, a Hollywood phenomenon, actually joined forces with Caesar of Rome and led her country to great prosperity. Joan of Arc, who continually inspires literature and works of art today, began as a peasant in France. At the age of sixteen, she became commander of the French army. These three women took very different paths to their positions of authority. And yet, one of the most striking similarities between them comes from the confusion and chaos their countries faced. The struggle women today face regarding their physical appearance is not a new struggle. In fact, each of these women fought against society's expectations regarding their physical exterior and clothing. And finally, the most memorable aspect of any story, each of these women experienced epic highs that marked their place in history. A common thread that runs through the remarkable stories of these three legendary women is the state of conflict and confusion in which their home countries found themselves. before their accession to leadership. Hatshepsut's quest for power went against all the conventions and expectations of her time. Growing up in a royal family, Hatshepsut was the sole heir to the throne, as the only child of Thutmose I. Due to her royal lineage; she was expected to rule as queen. Her father's untimely death led to her becoming queen at the age of 12. She then "married her half-brother Thutmose II" ("Hatshe...... middle of paper...... breaking courage, determination and vigor. Hatshepsut, Cleopatra and Joanna paved the way for the women of history. They broke boundaries that we still struggle to face today. As a future educator, I hope to inspire my young women for their inspiration and encouragement, rather than the celebrities of. today I personally found each of their stories inspiring. I hope to live a life marked by the enthusiasm of Hatshepsut, who was not afraid to become a pharaoh despite the doubts of all those who. surround her. I intend to find the balance between femininity and strength, as Cleopatra so masterfully did. I will be a force to be reckoned with, like Joan. will know that I intended to gather all my efforts and the courage to face the challenges that await me. The strength of women is timeless.
