  • Essay / Restoring an Old Truck - 2510

Most people think that there is a specific way to do things when it comes to restoring a truck. Take it apart, repair it and put it back together. In a sense, that's the basis of how to do it. Restoring a truck is a very complex process and can be approached in many different ways, in which there is a different set of steps to follow for each method. Depending on the condition the truck is in and what it will be used for, all of that factors into the decision-making process. This is a very important decision that will impact a truck's bottom line. There is no right or wrong way to do it (Gunnell, "Practical.") If there is interest in truck restoration and you haven't found one yet, the best advice is to look everywhere . At any time when you're on the move, look around streets, alleys, auto body shops, junkyards, farms, or any other place where a truck might be parked. If you are thinking about a specific truck, the Internet is the best option. The only downside to this option is that these trucks will be traveling all over the country and therefore travel will become a problem (Gunnell “Chevrolet” 196). When purchasing a truck, make sure it is the right truck. Don't buy a truck that's too difficult. Price is also an important topic to discuss. Don't pay too much, but also don't pay too little for a truck that looks too good to be true, because it probably is (Gunnell "Chevrolet" 196). After purchasing a truck, a set of standards must be established. which will help decide which approach to try. What are the plans for the truck. Will it have to be high-end to be able to participate in many classic truck shows? or will it be the family truck that goes from point A to point B. There are many different approaches middle of paper......ogle Books BerklyPublishing Group September 1999, accessed online March 2012.http:// books.google.com/books?id=wQXE9zffYFwC&pg=PA3&dq=restoring+old+trucks&hl=en&sa=X&ei=zk5nT7jqCu2w0QGYjIXGCA&ved=0CFcQ6AEwAzgU#v=onepage&q=restoring%20old%20trucks&f=false (5)Gunnell, Jean « Chevrolet Pickups 1973- 1988 » Google Books 2007 Krause PublicationsInternet Accessed March 2012.http://books.google.com/books?id=zkoIbMk9k-oC&pg=PA200&dq=restoring+old+trucks&hl=en&sa=X&ei=i0xnT8vcOeSy0AGwk4TECA&ved=0CFcQ6AEwAg# v= onepage &q= restoring%20old%20trucks&f=false (3)Gunnell, John, “Practical Auto and Truck Restoration” Google Books 2010 Penguin GroupPublishing Internet Accessed March 2012.
