    Alexander was known as a military genius of his time. The legacy he left behind is still used today. Although its journey to a one world government was short-lived, the impact it had will stand the test of time. Many rulers after him attempted to carry out what Alexander had planned to do and failed to even come close. But what made Alexander the Great so different? What separated him from all the other dictators? What leadership style did he possess that placed him above all others?Alexander the ChildBorn on July 20, 356 BC in the Pella region of Macedonia, Alexander the Great was destined to rule. His parents, King Philip II of Macedon and Queen Olympia, daughter of King Neoptolemus, raised young Alexander and his sister at the royal court of Pella. Growing up, Alexander rarely saw his father, who spent most of his time engaged in military activities and extra-war affairs. Alexandre was raised mainly by his mother. His mother Olympia became his strongest role model. She tricked young Alexander into believing that he was a demi-God. She taught him that he could accomplish anything he set his mind to.
