Data Analysis:6.1: The first lab involved pulling a block of wood with a spring balance at a constant speed across four different surfaces. The surfaces were wax paper, paper towels, fine sandpaper, and coarse sandpaper. We had to pull the block across each of these surfaces to determine how much force we needed to overcome the friction. When I pulled the block across the wax paper, it moved with a little force. The paper towel was also in a low strength range. However, with both fine and coarse sandpaper, it took a lot more force to move the block. Therefore, the surface that had the least friction was the wax paper, and the surface that had the most friction was the coarse sandpaper.6.2: In this second lab, we had to stack blocks and pull them across a flat surface. at a constant pace. I started with one block and worked my way up to four blocks. With a block, the force required was one Newton. With four blocks, the force required was 2.5 Newtons. As mass increased, force also increased. For each block added, the force increased ...
