    Employees are increasingly interested in jobs that offer flexible working hours. What are the factors that motivate this interest? The impact of economic, technological, social and lifestyle changes in today's environments has increased the awareness of flexible working arrangements in an organization. Data from the previous study indicated that the competitive work environment and increased workload led to the neglect of family and personal life (Mary and Chris, 1998). Smith (1993) emphasized that working women should balance office duties with family responsibilities, including safety, health, and the needs of children. Cook (1992) therefore suggests that through the implementation of flexible working hours, responsibilities for the safety and education of children will be better ensured. This is due to the fact that they are able to commit to better coordination between work and family responsibilities. This assertion is further supported by Emmott and Hutchinson (1998). They found that implementing flexible work schedules could increase and balance women's responsibilities at work and in the family. It is a fact that children need love, food, security and attention from their parents to ensure that they lead a normal life. This is in line with Maslow's theory of motivation which emphasizes the aspects of security, love, need for food, esteem and self-actualization which must be satisfied by the individual in order to increase motivation at work.
