I chose to follow the Ultimate Tea Diet because it was inexpensive and friendly to consume. Mark Ukra, who runs a tea room in Los Angeles, created the Ultimate Tea Diet. The diet includes 3 basic steps. First you choose the tea you enjoy the most, then you drink it all day and finally you follow a manageable diet. I chose to drink green tea and the diet consisted of eating raw vegetables and fruits. No sweeteners should be added to tea. Tea can be consumed hot or cold, the dieter should drink tea morning, noon and evening. They recommend eating normal meals throughout the day, including a balance of fats, carbohydrates and proteins. Half the plate should be filled with healthy carbohydrates such as: fruits, vegetables and whole grains. What are the basic principles of this diet? This diet encourages weight loss through the ingredients present in the teas. Starting with caffeine which has been shown to stimulate L-theanine, an amino acid capable of having a harmful effect on suppressing appetite. EGCG is also a component found in tea that increases the efficiency of fat burning rate. The tea diet has many positive results and is gaining popularity because it is safe. The fact that it allows dieters to eat carbs and protein is appealing. The tea that has proven to be the most effective is green tea. Green teas have the ability to regulate blood sugar levels in a person through reducing the levels of insulin that the body produces. This mechanism prevents fat deposition and storage, while keeping appetite under control. The benefits of this diet are: tea can help lower cholesterol and blood sugar levels, mindless snacking will be eliminated... middle of paper ...... it would be important to know if someone one is on a diet and has no access to uneaten food. -commercial tea. I would definitely prefer to consume green tea rather than other food supplements for weight loss. However, I will only recommend this diet if the tea does not contain caffeine and the people following it plan a balanced diet well. And water should not be eliminated or replaced with tea either. Overall, this experience was helpful in understanding how people will follow any diet found on the internet without consulting a dietitian or doctor. These dietary trends have a big impact on obesity and overweight, because unfortunately most people who lost weight ended up gaining double or gaining weight again. As future dietitians, we must inform the food trends in the market and be able to educate the community that our lifestyle will bring better results..
