Mission Statement, Objectives and PurposeMission StatementThe mission of the organization is to create a safe home for children in foster care. It aims to ensure that children live in a stimulating environment. Objectives The objective of "A Kid's Place" is to formulate, implement and monitor programs that enhance residential education for children in foster care. Objective The objective of “A Kid's Place” is to provide residential facilities to young people who have been removed from their homes by social services because their parents have abused or neglected them. These children are between zero and seventeen years old. Services provided in foster homes should improve the social, learning and psychological demands of the foster child. The goal of the organization is also to ensure that children from the same family are kept in one home when looking for a permanent home for them. The requirements of a new home are stability, security, and comfort.InterviewDuring my time in the volunteer program at "A Kid's Place," I cross-examined Susan Stagon. Susan is the organization's program director. She is a licensed clinical social worker. During the interview, she told me that there are strict requirements that must be met before getting that LCSW license. A requirement is to hold a master's degree in a relevant field. She told me she had a master's degree in social work and had ten years of experience in the sector. Additionally, she has completed short courses in human sexuality, substance abuse and dependence, assessment and reporting of child abuse, spousal assessment, and long-term care. Susan had extensive work experience, both in supervision and supervised work. Susan told me that the LCSW license also requires going through a standard culture...... middle of paper ......e. This has greatly improved my communication skills. Although I spent a lot of time with the children, I had regular interactions with foster parents, child support officials, and stay-at-home parents. I learned to communicate correctly with children and adults. Ms. Stagon also taught me how to manage budgets. She taught me how to obtain funds and channel them to the most productive projects. The volunteer program also helped me make valuable contacts and establish a wide network. These contacts helped me understand the benefits of social work and the rewards it brings. They gave me information about opportunities available in similar organizations. I am now certain that I will get a job before I even graduate. This is a great achievement. Volunteer work has helped me better understand my career. I have decided to enroll in a master's degree in social work in the next two years..
