  • Essay / living this scandalous life - 1072

My first reaction that came to mind was that keeping track of everything I do would be a waste of time. When I first started tracking, I always forgot to write down the hours and things I did and how long I did that activity. While I spent the first day forgetting to write down the time and activities I did, on the second day and after that it became a little easier to keep track of most of what I had done throughout the daytime. On weekends it became difficult for me to keep time because the whole day I was spending time with my friends or I wasn't even at home which was difficult or I would forget. One of the methods I used was when I started doing activities, I would open my notebook and write down the name of the activity, the start time, and the time when I finished it. Now that I use Excel, it is a more advanced program than Microsoft Word. Excel is one of the programs that I have never used or even looked at. This program was difficult and complicated when I first opened and looked at it. It organizes your writing and gives it a professional look to keep track of time, a schedule and working hours. The one thing I learned about Excel is that it's not that hard for someone to use the program and write something in it, once you get the hang of it understood, you will love Excel. Enjoy! I've seen other pie charts, for example, like my math class. The first time I laid eyes on these pie charts, it was one of a kind because it was a three-dimensional shape which is a whole circle but it is divided into several desired slices, with percentages and labels. I noticed a circle with percentages and labels. I thought a pie chart of this data was more meaningful if it told me how much time I spent in a day. I observed that this cha...... middle of paper ......ep a lot when I could do other activities besides sitting on the couch or lying in bed. I would like to change the way I spent my time during the seven days of my life. Two things I could change would be: How much TV I watch and how much homework I do. Sitting on the couch all day makes you gain weight and you will have vision problems. Doing homework is not a bad thing, have fun and be active too. Watching TV for a whole day makes you lazy, tired and you would probably be a boring person. This project was useful to me because it made me realize things that I need to change in my life. I learned to use Excel, graphs and charts, which I knew, but I delved into them. It made me recognize what I do for an entire day. The time budget data log became a part of my life and it was something I remembered all the time once I started the project..
