  • Essay / Light and photosynthesis - 1268

Introduction.Light is a very important factor in the rate of photosynthesis, in my project I will test that plants need light to carry out photosynthesis. It will be very interesting to see how light will influence the photosynthesis rate of plants and what will happen if they do not receive the light needed to produce starch. The plant I chose is a geranium which is a dicotyledonous plant. found in dry, hot regions of South Africa. ObjectiveTo see whether or not light affects the rate of photosynthesis in plants.Research hypothesis.Photosynthesis will occur at a faster rate when the plant is exposed to sunlight than when it is not. in sunlight. I chose to test the effect of light on plants because it is very interesting to test that light is a very important factor, and as the earth warms it will be interesting to see what happens to the end while sunlight is important at present and is an essential ingredient in photosynthesis, it will also be very interesting to see what would happen if the plants were not exposed to sunlight at all and if they would adapt.Literature reviewArticle 1: Plant photosynthesis.Photosynthesis is a process in plants, which converts light energy into chemical energy, which is stored in the form of sugar bonds. The process occurs in chloroplasts, using chlorophyll. Photosynthesis takes place in green leaves. Glucose is made from the raw materials, carbon dioxide, water, light energy and oxygen are released as waste. In these light-dependent reactions, energy is used to separate electrons from appropriate substances such as water, thereby producing oxygen. In plants, sugars are produced by a subsequent sequence of light-independent reactions called the middle of the paper......very well done because the plant I tested was done correctly and it had a band it was yellow/brown where there was no starch, the same leaf had a black border where the paper/leaf was not placed, it was black because photosynthesis had occurred and produced starch. Therefore, showing that light as well as other basic ingredients are important factors for the success of photosynthesis.BibliographyEffects of light. (December 16, 2013).
