  • Essay / The moral status of the fetus during abortion - 1684

Imagine… the birth of a human being into the world. 9 months of endless anticipation leading up to someone's first chance to see the world for the first time. While some enjoy the outcome of pregnancy, which leads to the arrival of a new human being in life, others do not enjoy it as much, or simply cannot be in such a situation. Abortion is the supposed “cure” for this problem and is, for the most part, performed safely. However, one of the factors that prevents someone from committing an abortion is consideration of the moral status of the child. Moral status means that there are moral implications for how you treat a particular thing (whether in this situation the fetus should be treated as a human being and not an object to be disposed of.) There may be no moral implications in a piece of paper, but there are moral implications for a human being. The question that arises is: even though there is a clear difference between the two, we must ask ourselves why we consider one thing to be valuable over another. Is the reason we consider one thing more valuable than another because one of them speaks our language, or because one has a heartbeat while the other is practically lifeless? The problem of moral status is at the heart of the abortion issue. Abortion, by definition, is the termination of the life of the unborn child following its physical destruction. That is to say, he is killed before he is even born to the woman by whom he was conceived. There are three types of abortion in the world today, one more extreme than the other. The three topics under discussion are therapeutic abortion, spontaneous abortion and voluntary abortion. Although people have their different views on this topic, the one that is talked about and debated by both sides of the groups is elective...... middle of paper .... .. just a virus that you should get rid of with some medication. Now, would anyone believe that what is inside a woman's body in front of her, alongside her organs, is either a mass of cells destined to be sentenced to death, or human life waiting 9 months to enter in the world about its (more or less) it's not up to me to decide. On the other hand, I see things differently when it's my situation. /pregnancyloss/pages/therapeutic-abortion.aspx http://medical-dictionary.thefreedictionary.com/elective+abortion https://www.boundless.com/physiology/definition/homeostasis/ http://www.foxnews.com /us/2014/03/10/adam-lanza-dad-wishes-son-had-never-been-born-says-cant-get-any-more-evil/http://harvardmagazine.com/2004/07 /debate-moral-status.html
