  • Essay / Analysis of the film Palestine - 812

I chose to talk about the atrocities caused by Palestinian colonialism. The reason I chose this solution was due to the amount of terrorism that took place at that time. Before watching the film, I had no idea of all the massacres that had taken place throughout Palestine. When so many Jews fled to Palestine, the Arab community did not fare well. The Arabs were increasingly populated by Jews, and when they began to realize this, they began to fight against them. Which, in my eyes, I agree with. No group should be able to come and take over land. When people are asked today about terrorism in Palestine, most know nothing about it; it was swept under the rug like any other day in the world. A land without people for people who have land was one of the first propaganda slogans of the Israeli state. He claimed that Palestinian land was empty and was the promised land of the Israeli state. That wasn't the case, there were people living there and they had been there for many, many years. Again, this is something I disagree with because it goes back to what I said earlier, which is that you can't take what isn't yours. The lies coming from the Israeli state were unbelievable, they said it was their land and Palestinians don't live there. The British government sent troops to Palestine to keep the Jews out, and the Jews knew they could not defeat the British groups through military tactics. They must resort to a new type of attack, urban terrorism. Jewish terrorism was born. The Irgun Zvei Leumi was one of several Jewish terrorist groups that were underground and operating against British law during the British Mandate...... middle of paper ......was sent to protect Jews who were in the wrong. The way the Israeli group covered this up is almost masterful: they denied that the people ever owned Palestinian land. They systematically destroyed evidence of their existence and culture, leaving Palestinians completely with nothing. The fact is that a group of people were driven from the land they had lived on for many generations. If that's not terrorism, then I don't know what is. After watching this film, I truly understood the magnitude of terrorism plaguing our world and how much we, as a world, know what is happening. More should have been done to regain control of the Israeli group. Overall, I think this is a very good documentary that everyone should watch if they are interested in the history of terrorism..
