    (2014) studied cell phone use based on gender. They obtained information on cell phone usage, revealing that women are more likely to use cell phones for social networking purposes, while men tend to retrieve information (Wei & Lo, 2006 cited in Forgays et al, 2014). This information can also be associated with the findings of Haverila (2011), who found that women are more likely to use cell phones (Jenaro et al., 2007 cited in Haverila, M., 2011). These results would suggest that women would spend more time on the phone than men, just as women would spend more time on social networks, which would take them more time than simply searching for information. The present observations focused on gender differences in cell phone use. I observed young adults, ages 18-25, who would be prime candidates for cell phone use. The aim of the observation was to study gender differences in duration of cell phone use, and the hypothesis was that women would spend more time on cell phones than men in a social context..
