    NFL Held Responsible for Brain InjuriesThroughout the history of the NFL, head injuries and the resolution of these issues have always been hidden from athletes because the NFL was focused on making big profits instead of caring about them. for the players. As this is an ongoing issue between NFL players and the NFL itself, many past and current players are digging deeper to find the truth and the statistics continue to show just how serious this problem is. When the lawsuits became public knowledge, the NFL agreed to pay more than seven hundred million dollars to compensate former players suffering from neurological injuries. Many believe the NFL came up with this so quickly, hoping to avoid a potential PR nightmare. The NFL, a ten billion dollar annual business, could not accept any type of culpability or legal discovery, which some inside and outside the industry said could have dealt a fatal blow to the future of the game (Thiel). The settlement may have prevented the public from learning much about the past, but the problem of head injuries is a danger to football and will not go away just because the NFL wants it to (Waldron).
