This comparison certainly sounds like the human exchange for America to prosper. In certain periods of history, people drank these six glasses; these drinks have become a trend. Standage also believes that each of these drinks caused a major rise/fall in history. In the last page of the introduction, Standage states that "The six beverages highlighted in this book demonstrate the complex interaction of different civilizations and the interconnectivity of the world's cultures." (6) I think A History of the World in 6 Glasses by Tom Standage is an excellent book, it is very creative but I think there are other important elements that also contributed a lot to the development of a story . Standage was very rational when he decided to write this book because it gives people a broader perspective on other topics in history, like these six
