Especially when it comes to physical and emotional responsibility. During our sessions, I felt like the group leaders provided enormous emotional support. I felt like the environment was stable and conducive to learning. At first, the setting was somewhat tense, but this was acceptable given that many of us were unfamiliar with the group therapy process. I had never attended a group therapy session myself. I did, however, appreciate that the environment was quite fair and unbiased. The leaders were very neutral and affirmative in their responses to everyone's comments and reactions. Everyone was involved and actively participated. The group was not hostile and everyone participated in the conversations as well as the chosen exercises. I also felt like everyone was emotionally connected. Meaning that if someone was facing a personal problem or their emotions were running high, the group was sensitive to that individual's needs. For example, we met a group member who had lost a friend. Immediately, every member of the group was involved and concerned. We immediately wondered whether or not she was taking time to grieve or if she was just doing enough to take time for herself. Overall, the environment during each therapy session demonstrated a great sense of empathy, concern, and support. Another session in particular that really stood out to me in terms of support was when we were invited to share our life experiences and dreams. I remember saying that I was going to school to finally do something for myself. I had completed my bachelor's degree at the age of 40 and intended to continue my studies until I completed my doctorate. What was so different was the fact that they understood. They understood, I tried
