Drug addictionMany people in the world today have had or currently have a drug addiction. Most people generally know the consequences of taking a medication, but they usually don't think about them at the time. When people start taking drugs, they don't think about what will happen and don't even worry about what might happen. All they care about is the next summit. A recent statistic indicates that 23.9 million Americans aged teens and older have used drugs in the past month. There are many reasons why someone can become addicted to a drug. Some people may try medication if they are in the wrong type of environment. They might want to try it to look like someone or to “feel cool.” There are people who become addicted because of a car accident. They eventually became dependent on these prescription drugs. Some people may start using a drug to "feel numb" from the abuse or emotional relationships with the people in their life. They can start taking medication to no longer have to deal with their daily life problems; it's like a mental escape for them. Aside from why people use drugs, the effects usually have a greater impact on...... middle of paper ...... accident and got a prescription saying they also became addicted . With many of the effects drugs have on people, including addiction, homelessness, or death.
