Sometimes a simple adjustment to where the child sits solves the problem or removes the obstacle. Other times, assistive technology is necessary. Today, the options for assistive technology are endless. In Samantha's case, I could provide her with many assistive technology options to help her succeed in class.1. Classroom Amplifier System: This system is installed in a classroom to provide stereo sound. The teacher wears a microphone which then transmits sound to the speakers.2. Hearing training device: This device consists of a microphone worn by the teacher and a headset worn by the student. The student is able to hear directly what the teacher is saying through the headset, which is less intrusive and less distracting than the classroom amplification system.3.
