Essay / risk of pregnancy - 712
Pregnant women should be careful during pregnancy. They must pay attention to the various speed bumps. There are tons of toxins that can harm the baby in the womb. The mother is responsible for most of these tasks, after all, she is the one carrying the baby. Many of these factors can lead to death. It's really sad that it sometimes has to end like this. The worst toxins a baby can encounter while in his mother's womb are different types of drugs and alcohol. Both of these things can cause serious problems for an infant once they enter their system. They enter the baby's bloodstream from the mother and cause problems from there. Drug and alcohol use during pregnancy can cause many birth defects. Drugs and alcohol can easily reach the baby while it is inside the mother. When a pregnant woman uses a drug or alcohol, it enters her bloodstream and then travels to the placenta. When it reaches the placenta, it passes through the umbilical cord into the baby's body (Schniderman p. 27). Once you arrive in the bay, this can cause many different problems. Drinking alcohol can cause the baby to be born with fetal alcohol syndrome. If too much alcohol enters the baby's bloodstream, it is very likely that he or she has FAS. Fetal alcohol syndrome can affect an infant after birth or even later in life. Children with fetal alcohol syndrome can sometimes be impulsive and tend not to learn from their own mistakes and behavior like other children (Stewart, p. 47). Having a child with FAS can be very difficult. They have difficulty trying to learn certain things. Learning from mistakes makes life so much easier, and having a child who can't do that can be very stressful. Many people put...... middle of paper ......ssants while they are pregnant with a child can pose a risk as it can lead to the death of the baby as the mother could have an abortion spontaneous. In addition, the age of the mother can also lead to different risks for the infant. Works Cited “Is it safe to take ibuprofen during pregnancy? » BabyCenter. Np, and Web. October 27, 2013.
