Marijuana: The Safest Healing Medicine Known There are many medicines manufactured today for just about every illness. Are these medications really worth taking or do they actually cause more harm than good? One could argue that pharmaceuticals are safe because the FDA approves them, but most of them actually cause more side effects than the disease they are intended to treat. What if there was a treatment for hundreds of diseases with a single drug and very few side effects? It exists, and its name is Cannabis, otherwise known as Marijuana. Marijuana is probably the safest medicine known to man. Marijuana is an all-natural substance that has been around for centuries, dating back to biblical times. The first mention was in the Old Testament and is mentioned five times in the books of Exodus, Song of Solomon, Isaiah, Jeremiah, and Ezekiel. Sula Benet, a Polish etymologist from the Institute of Anthropological Sciences in Warsaw, established the first evidence of the Hebrew use of the word cannabis in 1936. The word used in the Old Testament of the Bible was Kaneh-Bosm, also spoken in Hebrew under the name of kaneh or cannabis. The English pronunciation is cannabis. The translated kan root means “reed” or “hemp”, bosm means “aromatic”. (Bennet). “Then the Lord said to Moses: Take the following fine spices: 500 shekels of liquid myrrh, half as much of sweet cinnamon, 250 shekels of kaneh-bosm, 500 shekels of cassia, all according to the shekel of the sanctuary, and a doe of olive oil. Make it a sacred anointing oil. (Exodus 30:22-33). Jesus even distributed this oil free of charge for initiation rites and to heal the sick or injured.
