Completing high school acts as a mark of entry into the world of responsibility and maturity heralded by college life. The two stages of life, although completely dependent, are known to differ and be further apart than anyone realizes. In high school, almost everything is called obligatory and forbidden, while in middle school, it is strongly suggested but no one is going to run after the student to do something. The worlds of education and libraries are emerging as a topic of discussion. This in turn affected students' reading habits in high school and how they slowly change as they enter college. Most students aged fifteen to seventeen in high school make up the highest percentage of library users compared to college students. However, adolescents face reading attitudes that ultimately affect their overall reading response. College life, on the other hand, is more of a freedom-based society that allows students to choose the time and frequency of reading. But it is also a challenge since this life involves much more than just reading, but a struggle to balance what one has on one's plate. The first difference between the two reading habits is why both groups read. High school students read mainly because it is an obligation; they must complete an assignment or do research as required by their teachers. In high school, all you have to do is do what you're supposed to do and keep up with the average student. In college, however, there is great freedom to do what relates to oneself.
