Essay / Micro Penetration Index Analysis - 649
Micro Penetration Index (MPI) and Micro Poverty Penetration Index (MPPI)Both Microfinance Penetration Index (MPI) and Microfinance Penetration Intensity Among the Poor (MPPI) were presented in the 2009 Report for the first time. The calculation of the index was done as follows:• The number of loans of MFIs and SHG members having outstanding loans to banks is calculated and the share of each state in the total microfinance clients of the country was calculated.• Microfinance Penetration Intensity (MPI) was calculated by dividing the state's share of microfinance clients by the population share. Microfinance penetration intensity among the poor (MPPI) was calculated by dividing the state's share of microfinance clients by the population share. Since microfinance clients are in the numerator, a value greater than 1 indicates that the clients acquired are more than proportional to the population. The higher the score, i.e. greater than 1, the better the performance. Reduce the score by 1 which is the face value, the worse the performance of the state (Table 5) (FIG 5 and 6) Kisan Credit Card System Kisan Credit Card (KCC) instrument is l one of the key products developed to improve farmers' accessibility to bank credit.
