Hitchens has many ideas that Christians find difficult to answer today. For example, why should we praise God if creation comes naturally to Him, if God can heal a blind person then why not heal blindness, and with all continual prayer why no results? I believe that at some point many Christians have asked themselves these questions. However, there really is no definitive answer to these questions. Hitchens believes that Christian people want to believe in a higher order because we are afraid of having nothing to believe in and use this to comfort us with the truth about deceased loved ones. So what Hitchens is trying to say is that human beings tend to be “loyal.” Hitchens also argues that religion will remain in human ideas as long as human beings cannot overcome their primitive fears, particularly that of their own mortality. Hitchens and Nietzsche mostly have different views on how we perceive God. Nietzsche believes that we have changed the way we view religion and have mistreated the way it is supposed to be used.
