Imagine a life without technology, especially without a cell phone; no Iphone, Blackberry or any other type of smart phone. No WhatsApping, sending emails on the go, taking unexpected photos and talking on the phone anytime, anywhere. All these characteristics are those of the modern cell phone and so the real question is: have cell phones changed human beings socially? The truth is that taking away cell phones from people today will undoubtedly leave them lost and incompetent. Before the invention of cell phones, people were able to find other ways to communicate, without resorting to a small object. Therefore, do cell phones actually harm people's social skills instead of improving them? Back then, people communicated and transmitted messages using homing pigeons and stone carvings; this evolved until Johannes Gutenberg created the very first printing press and then followed the use of radio transceivers to transmit messages during World War II. Then the huge retro phones were created in the 80s, and then came that Nokia phone that everyone used to carry around in their pocket, the one with SNAKE on it. Nowadays, people feel uncomfortable and tense if their phone is not in their hand for even five minutes, but years ago, cell phone technology was a symbol of wealth for the super-rich, holding that obsolete Nokia phone with the black and white inscription. The screen was actually a trend and considered chic. Twenty years ago, no one could have predicted that 12-year-old girls would be chatting on the phone with their boyfriends, that homeless people would have outdated iPhones, and that texting would be the new way to communicate.
