    Who would believe that one day a teenager, due to lack of money, would be able to create the largest scented candle company in the world? This is exactly how Michael J. Kittredge began his entrepreneurial journey. The year was 1969 and Kittredge was leading a typical teenage life at his high school. Involved in a rock band, Kittredge experienced his first disappointment when his dream of success as a guitarist evaporated when the group ended. Disappointed that his dream was over, Michael was seen without money, without much hope, and to make matters worse, it was Christmas time. “I was 16,” Kittredge said in an April 2007 interview with Decorative Gifts and Accessories magazine. . “My rock band had just broken up, I had no money and I needed a present for my mother.” It was while trying to find a solution to his problem that Michael unexpectedly began his career which, although he was not a rock star, would turn into a successful entrepreneur. With no money to buy the coveted Christmas present for his mother, Michael relied instead on his own ingenuity. Kittredge looked around and started collecting scraps from your house.
