  • Essay / My Eating Habits Need to Change - 1480

“Over time, habits become automatic, learned behaviors, and these are stronger than the habits you try to incorporate into your life. » (Foreyt) My eating habits have changed over time, but I believe that eating is a habit. I am accustomed to certain foods, what my mother thought I prepared and what I learned to prepare are foods that I respect rather than modify them. What I eat has changed from when I was younger to now. Even though my eating habits haven't been very good throughout my life, I know that I have maintained good eating habits throughout my life. My eating habits have not been balanced. Sometimes I ate well and other times not so well. I now try to eat healthy and not go to restaurants as much. This can be difficult since to return to school I have to go out at lunchtime. Not being able to sit down and eat dinner with my family forces me to leave and get something to go or if something is prepared I grab what was made and take it with me. That's not the only reason my eating habits have changed over the years. My children, my husband and other members of my family have changed how I eat and what I eat. I'm going to take you and tell you briefly about my eating habits throughout my years, from my childhood to today. My eating pattern has always been to eat in and eat out. When I was younger we ate there, the home cooked food was the best. My mom's enchiladas, tacos, and posole were amazing. Mai papa's homemade meals were also excellent, her tortas, menudo and grills. We would eat out every once in a while. We would go get McDonalds or order pizza. This sometimes happened when my parents didn't have time to cook due to late return or not... middle of paper... the way we are raised. Everyone's eating habits are different. My eating habits certainly weren't always good, but for the most part I think I ate pretty well. I hope I change my eating habits so I can live a healthier life. It's never too late to change what has already become a habit, it just takes time and perseverance to get started. Works Cited Fisk, Michelle. “Fast Food and Bad Health Side Effects.” Livestrong.com.
