The true definition of a ghost is the soul or spirit of a deceased individual that may appear in visible form or other manifestations to the living. Ghosts are one of the most common paranormal beliefs in the world. Most people believe in ghosts because of a personal experience, whether it's seeing or feeling an unexplained presence. Who wouldn't want to believe that our beloved family members are looking for us? With ghosts come stories and eyewitnesses. When it comes to hard evidence, the paranormal world doesn't have a good history. The only evidence of a reported paranormal experience is eyewitnesses or pictures. Every area of ​​the paranormal relies deeply on eyewitness testimony. “The testimony of an eyewitness will often be the only evidence presented in court” (Chambers). If an eyewitness is acceptable in court, then why can't it be acceptable for an appearance? On September 19, 1936, the “brown lady” was sighted once again. Colonel Loftus was visiting Raynham Hall in England for vacation when he saw the dark-haired lady. He told other people about his experience and more people then came forward to say that they too had seen a strange figure. Shortly after this experience, a photo was taken. The photo of the dark lady is “considered one of the best and most compelling of all known ghost photos” (Dennis & Cohen). Another ghost sighting occurred in 1919, that of the Goddard Squadron which had served in the First World War. A photo of the squadron was taken and an additional ghostly face appears on the back of the airman placed in the top row.
