Watch her as she trots across the stage with her vibrant curls and makeup perfectly applied to match her fitted little dress. She is just a little girl and has been competing in pageants since birth. Most beauty pageants are for girls aged 3 months to 18 years old. They are entered to participate in competitions that judge them on their appearance, communication and performance in front of an audience. Young girls wear clothes that are too provocative for them to wear at such a young age. The main objective of this article is to show the immoralities of the beauty pageant industry in which young girls participate. In order to achieve the objective of this article, information from different researchers will be presented. The first part of the article will be to give information on how the beauty pageant industry started. Then there will be information on the number of girls participating in the pageants and how much pageant-related expenses cost parents. The next part of the article will include information establishing facts about how pageants cause the hypersexualization of young girls. After discussing the causes of this, the article will give information on how pageants cause self-esteem issues in beauty pageant participants. Before the conclusion of the article, information will be provided about the different types of bans and why the French are so opposed to the ideal idea of beauty pageants for children. The concluding paragraph will give information about the general summary of the immoral challenge of beauty pageants. Beauty pageants originated in 1921 as an attraction to keep tourists in cities longer so businesses would produce more money.
