  • Essay / Should being a parent be a right or a privilege in “Gone...

“Gone Baby Gone” is a movie that will haunt our minds after watching it. It will make people constantly change their minds .Especially until the end, people will start to think that the actor's decision is right or wrong. In this movie, there are conflicts of emotions between the characters. We can see the contradictions in their hearts. Should Patrick bring Amanda back to her mother's side and continue to stay with Jack? Parenting should be something that comes from the heart to provide children with a warm and loving home. Children are a blessing. they should not be a right for their biological parents. Parenthood should be a privilege rather than a right. In this movie we can see that each character has different values, morals and opinions. good people and just want to do the same thing, they are different people and therefore have different opinions and choices. will produce a different result. Next, we will examine whether the main character Patrick's decision is right or wrong. Maybe some people agree with Patrick and others don't. But we will understand that Patrick chose what he thinks is right. So he decided to call the police anyway, even though his girlfriend and co-worker, Angie Gennaro, said she would hate him. However, I disagree with Patrick's decision to send Amanda back to her own mother because he thinks being a parent should be a right. I know that every mother loves her child. Hélène also loves her daughter. But that doesn't mean she can be a good mother and has the ability to take care of her child. At first, Hélène wasn't really worried about her daughter's disappearance. Her daughter had been missing for three days already. She could still... middle of paper ......y and Amanda still lives as before. Everything is the same at the beginning except for Patrick, Angie, Rémy and Jack. Patrick and Angie used their relationship to prove that being a parent is either a right or a privilege. Rémy and Jack lose right for not having succeeded in keeping Amanda away from her mother. They used their lives to prove that being a parent should be a privilege. Being a parent of a child should be a privilege rather than a right, because not everyone can exercise their right as a parent like Helen does towards her daughter. I strongly disagree with Patrick who stuck to his own opinion and wanted to fire Amanda even though he already knew the truth. Jack can give Amanda more love and care. Amanda was also happy living with Jack. We shouldn't worry too much about parenthood, because being a parent should be a privilege. Giving birth may be a right, but being a parent is a privilege.
