Hugo Star Success ShowPodcast: Fade-in: (25 seconds) – Rocky Theme TuneHugo Star: Hello and welcome to the Hugo Star Success Show. My name is Hugo Star and this week I'm going to tell you two stories from the world of successful endeavors. Those of you who are regular listeners will know that on this show we aim to both entertain and inspire you for greater things. The central theme of this evening's show will be “The impossible is nothing”. For this reason, you will hear about two people who overcame their challenges and literally broke their obstacles. These stories are not ordinary stories. They are unique. These are people who truly made the impossible possible. Fade in: (11 seconds) - Future Could Music - Aqua VitaeHugo: My first guest is Diana Nyad, a long-distance swimmer. Diana set a world speed record in 1975 by swimming around Manhattan in less than eight hours. A few years later, she then set a distance record for her 102.5-mile stage swim from the Bahamas to Florida. She recently became the first person to continuously swim from Cuba to Florida, and she did it without a shark cage! Not only was she the only one to accomplish this feat, but she did it at the age of 64. Diana, welcome to the show. Diana: Hey, how are you? Hugo: Very good. When I heard you speak at the TED Talks in New York, I had to call your agent to see if we could get you on the show. Diana: Thanks, that’s really cool. Hugo: I was intrigued to hear that you tried this. Swim 100 miles continuously four times, before succeeding on the fifth attempt. Diana: Not only that, but some of the greatest swimmers in the world have been trying to achieve this goal since 1950. You know, I... .. middle of paper ...... am today, so a mention special for him.Hugo: What happened?Arthur: Well, in the first 6 months, I lost 100 pounds...Hugo: Which is an incredible feat.Arthur: In 10 months, I lost 140 pounds. But the most memorable achievement would be that not only was I able to walk again, but I was able to run. I am now a motivational speaker and work with students at school to show them that anything is possible. It shows that we should never underestimate what we can accomplish.Hugo: It's mind-blowing. Do you have anything you'd like to add before I finish before the break? Arthur: Yes, one last thing. Never give up. Believe you can do it.Hugo: Thank you so much for being on the Hugo Star Success show. Fantastic story.
