Essay / Essay on Globalization in Australia - 878
The idea of Australian business globalization, the process by which businesses expand internationally is one of the major problems in our society today. The concept of globalization arose from many factors, such as reduction of trade barriers, reduction of tariffs and quotas, new technological developments as well as new innovations in transportation technologies. These factors driving globalization can have many consequences, both positive and negative. These consequences are free trade brought about by reduced tariffs and environmental costs such as pollution from factories and greenhouse gases causing global warming. One of the main factors driving globalization in Australia has been a reduction in protection, with domestic trade barriers being removed. A reduction in international trade protection is achieved by governments working together to develop agreements between themselves to reduce trade barriers and enable the reduction of customs duties on imported goods. Australian governments have partnered with countries like Singapore and Malaysia to try to reduce tariffs and quotas on imported goods, resulting in free trade agreements between other countries. For example, when domestic trade barriers are removed, Australian businesses have the opportunity to import goods at a lower price and then export other goods to new markets in other countries. Evidence of this was recently reported on the ABC news program, the reporter quoted that "our government should not sign free trade agreements with Japan until tariffs on beef and produce Australian dairy prices will not have been reduced. This report showed local Australian farmers trying to convince our Prime Minister...... middle of paper ...... as we do not emit greenhouse gases in any way and because we do not we don't export goods, we don't export them. expose our environment to pollution from vehicles used for transporting goods. » In conclusion, the idea of globalization, the process by which companies develop internationally, is one of the current challenges of our generation. Globalization is caused by many factors, such as reduced protection, reduced tariffs and quotas, and new developments in information and transportation technologies. Therefore, these factors that cause the globalization of Australian businesses also bring many costs and benefits. The main costs and benefits are free trade, the result of removing trade barriers, and environmental costs caused by factory pollution. Overall, a positive outcome will be achieved if the globalization of Australian businesses continues..
