  • Essay / Faith and Spirituality in the Works of Taylor and Wheatley

In each poem, Taylor and Wheatley constantly describe the nature they see around them. In Taylor's work, there are many examples of him describing aspects of the nature around him in a poetic way, describing rivers as a green ribbon and stars as twinkling lanterns in the sky. The same could be said of Wheatley throughout his poem. Wheatley constantly describes the nature he observed around him in almost every line. He is seen describing to the reader how the sun sets on the horizon over the ocean or how the morning will shine with a somewhat rosy charm. By using such descriptive power, Taylor and Wheatley are able to show their admiration for the works of their Creator in creating such a beautiful universe so that they can thrive.
