Walmart has been the subject of much controversy over the years. People who shop at Walmart seem to think Walmart is a wonderful place, but some Walmart employees look down on the company. Sometimes consumers never know what's going on within a given company, other than what they hear, but they have no idea how unfair the company that employs them may be. The controversy at Walmart had sparked lawsuits in all directions. Walmart is being sued or has been sued for many reasons, including gender discrimination, racist comments, price discrepancies, and failure to provide safety and security. Walmart has many unhappy employees due to minimum wage, no benefits, and part-time work. People who work part time at Walmart cannot survive on Walmart wages alone due to the minimum wage, they cannot support their family with help from another source. Benefits at Walmart are difficult to obtain, meaning employees can't get insurance or health benefits to cover their medical costs. In recent years, Walmart has been sued by employees as well as customers. Some employees claim they have been discriminated against. for gender, race and a number of other reasons, so they filed lawsuits against the company. Walmart claimed it did no harm to its employees or customers, saying they thrive on making employees and keeping their customers happy. Walmart has won and lost some of the lawsuits filed against them. Lawsuits seem to surround Walmart in every sense of the paper... due to the fact that Walmart employees sometimes have access to the credit cards and PINs of people with disabilities. Shopping should be equal for everyone, including people with disabilities, because there is no equality for people with disabilities, which constitutes discrimination. A Walmart in the coming days should find a way to make everything accessible to people with disabilities when it comes to shopping and paying for goods. (Weird) Works cited GOESSL, LEIGH.
