Before watching the film, I didn't really think about her as a teenager; instead, I thought she was a mature adult because of all she had accomplished. I was surprised to learn that she was only 16 when she was shot and underwent major surgeries. Plus, I was even more shocked when I discovered that she had given speeches and worked for BBC news when she was just 14 years old. To me, this is an incredibly bold action, even from an adult. I couldn't imagine giving speeches and working with news organizations while living in fear of the Taliban.
